readathon

T plus 12 now!! HALF WAY!!! How does that make you feel!? Oh, goodness it is good stuff. I love reading, reading, reading and it is so fun to read for a cause. Are you reading for a cause too? Which one? I am reading for Rabuna Fi like I have mentioned already.

What do you think of classics? Love 'em? Are you scared of them? Go over to the next stop and talk classics:

Ash at English Major's Junk Food is hosting the favorite classic mini-challenge during this hour of the Read.Read.READ-A-THON. Leave a comment with your favorite classic and a quote from the novel or author.

This hours winner Virtual Prize Bucket (prizes are first come first serve, comment on this post or the prize post saying which prize you want, the ones that are scratched out are not available any longer):

If the winner is not located within the US or in Canada, please notify me. It is really hard to tell from a blog sometimes. I have a couple international prizes that I will ship, let me know if you are located internationally.

Dreadlock Girl Personal Update:
I ate dinner, I drove around trying to find a place with internet access...and I finally sat back down. I am reading The Color of Water and still listening to A Wrinkle in Time (not liking it super much).

I finally got myself a hot beverage of my choice, which ended up being Chai tea. Love it!!

What about you? Are you enjoying your current read??

One book completed, The Color of Earth (316 pages).

  1. I am still working on The Shack… theologically, I don’t agree with all of it, but it has given me a lot to think about, and made me understand a little bit more about the difficulty of giving up His only son, and Jesus’ desire to die for our salvation.

Anyway, I am sorry you aren’t enjoy Wrinkle in Time… I think it would be heard to listen to it. It was one of those things I had to see so I could re-read certain passages to try to understand the concept. Hope you like it a bit better…

  2. I haven’t read A Wrinkle in Time since I was 12 I think, so I would be very curious to see what I would think now. I liked it enough then to read many of her books. Hope you like everything else you read a bit more!

  3. Well, I’m in between books at the moment, but I really liked my last choice, Gathering Blue. It’s the companion novel to The Giver (not exactly sure how, though) but it reminded me of the Hunger Games in some ways. Very good! Now I’m going to pick up the 5th book in the Tomorrow series…since I really like the first 4, I think there’s a good chance I’ll like it!

  4. 115 pages! I didn’t think I’d be able to read this much with only one contact lens! And it’s only after 7 on the west coast!

  5. I’m still working my way through “The Shack.” It’s pretty interesting!

  6. Aren’t you the amazing one…running a Readathon AND reading, yet?! Good for you!

  7. I am with debnance on this one – how do you do it?! I am still slowly making my way through Revolutionary Road, I almost don’t want it to end because I like it so much.

  8. I love the picture! Congrats to Shannan!!

  9. The best contact lens that i have used are the ones made by Bausch & Lomb. Very high quality and top of the line contact lens.”‘.
