I doesn't make that much buttermilk, more butter than buttermilk. I think I probably got around a cup of buttermilk and maybe 1.5 of butter by using about half of a quart. Now I am getting all confused, it makes a fair amount though!

Do you live in town? I've thought about chickens but wondered about the noise and whether my neighbors would complain. Did you buy a henhouse or make your own? Do yours roam around the yard freely or do you have a little portable chicken run for them? (Goodness, I am Curious George, I know, but you seem to be DOING a lot of the things I've been WANTING to do for a few years!) Thanks!

Wow, that's a good idea...about how much buttermilk do you have left over from each batch? I'm thinking buttermilk biscuits, buttermilk pancakes...as a sister project to making the butter.

It looks like one qt. of whipping cream makes about 1 cup (2 sticks) of butter?

So, how much do you spray? I assume you spray it directly onto your head (not in your hand) and then rub into a lather? At least, from your description it sounds like it does lather....A while back I watched an infomercial for that one guy's fantastically expensive un-shampoo and then did a bunch of web research and wasn't convinced...but I hate looking at all the nasty ingredients in the average shampoo bottle and can't afford most of the natural stuff. I would be willing to give this a try!
