My Life as a Baby Oven: Over the Hill
The phases have come and gone, and I only wait to see what is next. I know there is something funky that has to come, but we will see. For now, I am over the funky hill! Most days I only feel sick for a little while if at all, and I am able to eat food without being picky or dry heaving-so glad that is over.
The funny thing is LOOK AT THAT BELLY, and I am still down 2 lbs from pre-morning (note: all day, all night) sickness. I am just over 3 months now, and life has gotten a lot better.
Now that my belly is getting bigger, I once again know the feeling of some sort of alien creature possessing my body. Not really in a weird way, just in an I-am-not-in-control sort of way. That is fine though because we never really are even when we think we are, right?
Sleeping isn't as fun as it used to be, or I should say falling asleep is an adjustment. You see I usually sleep on my stomache, and that feels a little bumpy these days! Ha! Once I get to sleep I am having really vivid dreams, mostly of the intensly scary sort and the rest I don't seem to remember.
I can now read again, and do some crafts without feeling sickly. I have been running too. It is lovely, I am so thankful I am able to run right now, it is hard on me when I can't. I should be better about going to bed though, because sleep is something I won't get enough of for the next 2 years. Live it up while I can. Has anyone tried any sort of body pillow or anything like that while pregnant for sleeping?? I haven't with the first 2, but I am considering it this time around.
I didn't think you'd be able to see the difference so soon month-to-month...but check it out. Or it could be because I ate so much popcorn tonight. Ha!

I haven’t gotten a body pillow yet, but we did invest in a memory foam mattress topper because my hips were killing me from sleeping on my side(s) all night. I also found that a pillow between my knees/legs helped a lot.

You are looking so great Bethany!! Thank you so so so much for the ornament, I have it hanging in my cubical and can’t wait to put it on our tree :) My hips started to hurt a few weeks ago so a friend of mine let me borrow her full body boppy pillow. I LOVE IT. It’s a little flat from previous use so I went ahead and ordered a snoogle from Amazon. Once I get it I will let you know what I think of it vs the boppy pillow. Can’t wait to hear what your having!!

I couldn’t read for the first 3 months, either. You
need a body pillow. I am still using mine. ;)

Such cute pictures!! You can’t tell in person that your tummy is growing though. I love how you can see the difference in the 2 pictures. Maybe it was the popcorn : )

Definitely get a body pillow! I sleep with a smaller pillow now (in between my knees to ease back pain) but loved the body pillow when pregnant.

Because of all the ‘oh yes you certainly shoulds’ I just ordered my snoogle on amazon. I can’t wait to sleep well. It is hard to be a belly sleeper when pregnant, falling asleep in a different position just isn’t sleep inducing :) And thank each of you for your encouragement, you bless me much more than you know.
Thank you!!!!

Still so itty bitty, though! I remember when I felt SO HUGE and now when I look back at those pictures I realize I was itty bitty as well. Not sure my body will ever be the same (and I’ve only had one!). ;)
I got a snoogle pillow around 13 weeks. It was actually the readathon night and I just couldn’t get comfortable as my sciatica had started and I could no longer lie on my tummy like I love to. Scott picked it up for me and I LOVED it. Was so helpful for this back/tummy sleeper, especially when the pain in my hips got really bad near the end. I’d recommend it, though I was glad to be rid of it and have my bed back!
Glad you’re over the hill. Second trimester is the best, huh?
So happy for you and your little family.

congratulations! obviously the big news has been around for awhile, but I haven’t been on blogs in forever. I come hunting up some cute homemade Christmas ideas. : ) Glad to hear you are out of the rough patch and onto the blooming one. I always wanted to get that pillow that’s a big swirly curve, but I just used 10 pillows or something rididculous. love the picture idea! and I love seeing what you pin on pinterest. : ) Merry Christmas!
