The Summer of Backpacking: Siltcoos Lake Trail
The Husband has been excited all year about this summer, and to an outsider it could look just like any other summer- but to our family it is known as 'The Summer of Backpacking'. The boys have been admiring the dream of camping, packing in, and fishing all throughout the rainy and cold winter Oregon months. The time has now just come so at the first hint of good weather we set out to conquer (or admire if that makes you nervous) the great outdoors.

Did you go backpacking as a kid? Any good memories to share? What plans do you have outside this summer?

LOVE it! Looks like so much fun. And julius w/ a back pack is so cute, my head just exploded.

I’ve had basically only negative experiences with camping, so I’m not exactly eager to join you. But, I wanted to say your dog is cute! :D

Thank you!! Oh, you should give it another try, a good warm sleeping back and good quality gear makes all the difference. Plus it is a very quiet place to read.

Hi guys, boy you sure are a great photographer. I am glad to see Jackson and Oliver got those fishing rods inspired by your trip back East. You, my niece, are a remarkable person, filled with so much talent and love for Christ and your family. All of you truly look happy in your photos. Tell Brad, I said hi.
Love to all,
Uncle Jack

Uncle Jack, thank you so much. You have no idea how much that means to me. We miss you. The boys said to tell you that they remember when they went fishing and each caught 3 fish. I just wish the coasts were closer, much closer. Love you Uncle Jack!!!
