The Boy Creates: Necklace

My little (not so little) Jackson loves making stuff. He makes draws pictures for Oliver when he is sick, or sad, or being grouchy. He is on a (not so loved by me) spiderman kick even though he has never seen spiderman, so he draws that all day. It ranges from pirates, to superheroes, to good 'ol wild, wild west.

This time my boy made something for me. Jackson found each component on his own, working away then he beamed to present his gift to me. I beamed too .It is so cool, and it makes my heart drool that he made it on his own, thinking of me. The sweetest thing is how he smiles and really notices when I wear it, and I do- to book club, church, wherever.

I love my  necklace!

What things have your kids made that made you really feel the love? What things have they made that are hard to wear out in public? :)

  1. Wow, That is so cute! Very talented.

  2. Adrianne did a footprint in purple glittery clay and made a pin out of it for mother’s day. I swear it is one of my most treasured pieces of jewelry. I always swore to myself that I would wear the things my kids made me, so far it has been easy to do!

  3. My daughter makes me bookmarks. I guess she knows her mama.

I think the necklace is darling. Very stylish and earthy.

  4. How adorable! My daughter is always making me things, mostly drawings. I need another room just to devote to all the drawings she’s given me. I cherish them all, though.

    • I agree that we need a whole room to house the drawings that this kid produces! I have started taking pictures of them, then I will make a snapfish book of our favourites. If not we couldn’t fit in the house. It is so hard to get rid of their creations!

  5. My kids know that I love to get cards and I have treasured the ones that they have made for me. Especially the ones that they write in.
I must say, since they are all adults now I have received some pretty awesome things from each one!
The necklace you received is priceless – I am glad you wear it in such a way to show that to him!

  6. I remember once when my niece “fixed” my hair for me. She was about 4 and put maybe 10 hair clips and hair bands in my hair. We were just about to go out to dinner and I could tell she was so proud of her hair-styling skills. I actually went out to eat looking like a crazy person!
