Finally Father and Son: International Adoption Success

By bethany (dreadlock girl), May 29, 2009 14:37

After a long wait, and a lot of patience the Marble’s have finally gotten their little boy from Kazakhstan! He is my husband’s new little cousin. He is just too cute. International adoption seems to be a series of ups and downs, where the parents jump through all sorts of hoops in order to get their child.  I understand why it needs to be that way, still it is hard on the expectant parents.

This new dad couldn’t get enough of looking at his little boy, he bought a compact mirror so that he could see him at all times, even when in the kid backpack. I just had to smile, this was too sweet. The harder you try for something – the more you appreciate it (or him). The reward is sweeter than the road is bitter. We are happy to report, a very, very successful international adoption and overjoyed to welcome him into the family.

Okay, could he BE any cuter?!? International adoption is rough and even adopting within one’s own country is tough. In fact, it is a lot harder for an American to adopt an American child than it is to go internationally, which is why so many people do it. It is still a challenge though and like you said many hoops to jump through. I am so glad that he is a part of your family now and that the long wait is over!
