A list of spring favourites

IMG_3283_4

1.) Enjoying the newness of the great outdoors, while not yet calloused to its beauty.

2.) Getting my fingers in the dirt to plant flowers and vegetables.

3.) Busting off the socks and breaking forth in sandals.

4.) Flowers that I forgot were there last year coming back to surprise me.

5.) The mildness of the sun in this season.

6.) That it is a season of birth, baby chicks, baby cows baby everything.

7.) Driving around with the windows down, the breeze is soft and gentle.

8.) Watching and hearing the neighborhood kids playing baseball in their backyard.

9.) Getting everything cleaned up so that we can enjoy being outside.

10.) More room for the boys to run around in thus getting rid of cabin fever a day at a time.

There is so much more, but this is a start. I love the joys of spring, the expectation of what is to come. Its not winter and not yet feeling the summer blaze. It is the reward for making it through another dreary winter.

  1. I love that the cows are looking straight at you like they’re posing for the camera. My spring favourites:

*chirping birds greeting me every morning
    *long days, short nights
*getting to walk out more often
    *colour everywhere (no more white-everything!)
    *the feeling of rejuvenation
    *branches sprouting blossoms

  2. Claire, those are such great favourites!! I love yours too. There is just so much to enjoy about spring.

  3. I love your spring favorites! Mine are hearing the birds chirping at about 4:30 (EST) every morning; the smell of the fresh growth (until my allergies make it impossible to breathe it all in!); driving home in the daylight; the green color of leaves just as they spring open from their buds; no more winter coats (yay!), and watching our perennials come up and make the garden beautiful again! Thanks for encouraging me to remember these great things about spring!

  4. one thing i’m not loving: the woodpecker who has been pecking on my gutters at 6am for the last 4 days.

beyond that, i love spring because it’s a friendly reminder that summer’s almost here! no work! road trip! yay! is there anything better?
